Getting hit with an accusation from the medical board or any other healthcare licensing board is a frightening ordeal: a disciplinary action against a professional license threatens devastating consequences for one’s professional and personal life. Furthermore, while you stand at the epicenter of this crisis, the ripple effects extend to your family, colleagues, staff, and patients resulting in widespread harm. Simply put, a license accusation causes a corrosive and all consuming concoction of destruction. 

But there is an antidote: Action. Accusations need to be met head on, squarely confronted, and addressed point by point. The key to defending against any accusation is convincing a licensing board that you deserve to maintain your professional privileges which requires indisputable, clear and convincing evidence that counters every element of any accusation. And this is where action serves two purposes: it generates evidence that undermines and invalidates the accusations leveled against you, and helps restore your confidence, purpose, and self-esteem.  I don’t let my clients cower in fear. I demand that they face what they have to face, deal with what they have to deal with, and do what they have to do so at the end of the day they can look in the mirror and honestly say to themselves “I am doing everything I can”.  

I realize this is far different than what you will read on typical websites for license defense lawyers who boast of their “thorough understanding of the law“, “extensive experience“, “deep knowledge“ and last, but not least, their “aggressive defense“ in these matters.  Spare me the bullshit: a hired mouth, no matter how eloquent it may be, is no match for a healthcare provider who does everything within their power to neutralize accusations. And I assure you, the judge hearing your case, and the board leveling accusations against you would agree.

Resolution of your matter may take the form of addressing the concerns of the licensing board to effectuate a dismissal, negotiating a favorable settlement, or defending your license at an administrative hearing. Furthermore, I insist that my clients “get ahead of the accusation”, by being proactive and marshaling the best evidence as early as possible to convince the licensing board that not only has the accusation been taken seriously, but that we have also went above and beyond to satisfactorily address the concerns of the licensing board.
